In 2026, Make A Change Foundation (MAC), in collaboration with Shree Cutch Satsang Swaminarayan Temple, Mombasa and Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj, Mombasa, is proud to organise the Kenya Eye Camp 2026 — a humanitarian initiative dedicated to restoring vision and improving quality of life for communities in the local counties surrounding Mombasa, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas. The camp is scheduled to take place in either August or September 2026, with the exact dates to be confirmed closer to the time.
Our Mission
The Kenya Eye Camp 2026 aims to:
- Provide free eye check-ups and consultations to individuals in the local counties surrounding Mombasa.
- Deliver cataract surgeries, corrective procedures, and essential eye care treatments for children and adults who cannot afford medical care.
- Promote awareness on eye health and preventive care to reduce long-term vision problems in the community.
Every procedure performed and every pair of eyes restored is a step toward a brighter, clearer future.
Why It Matters
Across many communities in Kenya, avoidable blindness and poor eye health are daily realities. Something as simple as untreated cataracts or lack of access to glasses can take away a person’s ability to work, study, or live independently.
At Make A Change Foundation, we believe that sight is more than just vision — it’s opportunity. Through our eye camps, we aim to provide sustainable access to eye care for those who need it most, ensuring that:
- Children can return to school
- Parents can provide for their families
- Elders can once again see the world around them
Funding the Eye Camp – Rickshaw Ride 2026
To support the Kenya Eye Camp 2026, Make A Change Foundation is organising the Rickshaw Ride 2026 – Journey for Change. This exciting adventure will see participants driving a rickshaw from Chhapaiya to Bhuj, raising funds to ensure the eye camp can provide surgeries, consultations, and essential care to communities in need.
The Rickshaw Ride 2026 is more than a fundraiser — it is a movement that combines adventure, empathy, and impact, directly helping transform the lives of individuals with vision impairments.
A Collaborative Effort
The success of Kenya Eye Camp 2026 relies on strong partnerships, careful planning, and dedicated volunteers:
- Make A Change Foundation (MAC) brings experience in organising medical camps, mobilising resources, and fundraising.
- Shree Cutch Satsang Swaminarayan Temple, Mombasa provides logistical support, local outreach, and volunteer coordination.
- Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj, Mombasa assists in community engagement, identifying beneficiaries, and ensuring smooth camp operations.
Logistics in Remote Areas
Many of the targeted counties are extremely remote, with very small, scattered communities. To ensure the camp runs smoothly:
- The Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj, Mombasa coordinator first reaches out to local communities, informing them of the upcoming camp and identifying patients.
- On the day of the camp, patients are transported from remote settlements to the main camp where surgeries can be performed safely.
- Overnight accommodation is arranged for patients and their caretakers if needed.
- The next day, patients are transported back to their communities.
- Volunteers begin preparations a week before the actual camp, setting up logistics, coordinating medical teams, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready.
This careful planning ensures that even the most remote and underserved communities can access life-changing eye care.
How You Can Help
Support from donors, volunteers, and sponsors is crucial to the success of the Kenya Eye Camp 2026. Contributions help cover:
- Surgical equipment and medical supplies
- Transportation and accommodation for patients from remote settlements
- Volunteer and medical team support
- Post-surgery care and follow-ups
Every donation, big or small, directly contributes to restoring sight and transforming lives. Participating in or supporting the Rickshaw Ride 2026 is a fun and impactful way to make a direct difference.
Looking Ahead
The Kenya Eye Camp 2026 is more than a medical initiative — it is a movement of compassion, hope, and empowerment. By coming together, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to see a brighter tomorrow, no matter where they live.
