In 2026, Make A Change Foundation (MAC), in collaboration with Shree Cutch Satsang Swaminarayan Temple, Mombasa and Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj, Mombasa, is proud to organise the Kenya Eye Camp 2026 — a humanitarian initiative dedicated to restoring vision and improving quality of life for communities in the local counties surrounding Mombasa, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas. The camp is scheduled to take place in either August or September 2026, with the exact dates to be confirmed closer to the time.

Our Mission

The Kenya Eye Camp 2026 aims to:

  • Provide free eye check-ups and consultations to individuals in the local counties surrounding Mombasa.
  • Deliver cataract surgeries, corrective procedures, and essential eye care treatments for children and adults who cannot afford medical care.
  • Promote awareness on eye health and preventive care to reduce long-term vision problems in the community.

Every procedure performed and every pair of eyes restored is a step toward a brighter, clearer future.

Why It Matters

Across many communities in Kenya, avoidable blindness and poor eye health are daily realities. Something as simple as untreated cataracts or lack of access to glasses can take away a person’s ability to work, study, or live independently.

At Make A Change Foundation, we believe that sight is more than just vision — it’s opportunity. Through our eye camps, we aim to provide sustainable access to eye care for those who need it most, ensuring that:

  • Children can return to school
  • Parents can provide for their families
  • Elders can once again see the world around them

Funding the Eye Camp – Rickshaw Ride 2026

To support the Kenya Eye Camp 2026, Make A Change Foundation is organising the Rickshaw Ride 2026 – Journey for Change. This exciting adventure will see participants driving a rickshaw from Chhapaiya to Bhuj, raising funds to ensure the eye camp can provide surgeries, consultations, and essential care to communities in need.

The Rickshaw Ride 2026 is more than a fundraiser — it is a movement that combines adventure, empathy, and impact, directly helping transform the lives of individuals with vision impairments.

A Collaborative Effort

The success of Kenya Eye Camp 2026 relies on strong partnerships, careful planning, and dedicated volunteers:

  • Make A Change Foundation (MAC) brings experience in organising medical camps, mobilising resources, and fundraising.
  • Shree Cutch Satsang Swaminarayan Temple, Mombasa provides logistical support, local outreach, and volunteer coordination.
  • Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj, Mombasa assists in community engagement, identifying beneficiaries, and ensuring smooth camp operations.

Logistics in Remote Areas

Many of the targeted counties are extremely remote, with very small, scattered communities. To ensure the camp runs smoothly:

  • The Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Samaj, Mombasa coordinator first reaches out to local communities, informing them of the upcoming camp and identifying patients.
  • On the day of the camp, patients are transported from remote settlements to the main camp where surgeries can be performed safely.
  • Overnight accommodation is arranged for patients and their caretakers if needed.
  • The next day, patients are transported back to their communities.
  • Volunteers begin preparations a week before the actual camp, setting up logistics, coordinating medical teams, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready.

This careful planning ensures that even the most remote and underserved communities can access life-changing eye care.

How You Can Help

Support from donors, volunteers, and sponsors is crucial to the success of the Kenya Eye Camp 2026. Contributions help cover:

  • Surgical equipment and medical supplies
  • Transportation and accommodation for patients from remote settlements
  • Volunteer and medical team support
  • Post-surgery care and follow-ups

Every donation, big or small, directly contributes to restoring sight and transforming lives. Participating in or supporting the Rickshaw Ride 2026 is a fun and impactful way to make a direct difference.

Looking Ahead

The Kenya Eye Camp 2026 is more than a medical initiative — it is a movement of compassion, hope, and empowerment. By coming together, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to see a brighter tomorrow, no matter where they live.

At MAC, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to explore, learn, and enjoy experiences that enrich their lives. This year, we were proud to support Woodlands School, a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school on Bransgrove Road, London.

Understanding the unique needs of the students, MAC contributed in several meaningful ways:

  1. Special Needs Trikes for SEND Students: In May 2025, we donated two specially designed trikes, giving SEND children the freedom to enjoy outdoor play and develop their coordination, confidence, and independence.
  2. Horse Riding for SEND Children: Also in May 2025, MAC covered the full-year fees for horse riding sessions for the SEND students. This activity supports physical development, social skills, emotional well-being, and a sense of achievement.
  3. Christmas Gifts for SEND Students: In November 2025, we donated towards the children’s Christmas gifts, bringing festive joy to the SEND students and their families.

While local authorities provide statutory support for SEND education, additional activities like these often fall outside the core budget and rely on external funding. MAC is proud to play a role in ensuring SEND children at Woodlands School can access these enriching opportunities.

Through initiatives like these, we continue to uphold our commitment to supporting local communities and helping SEND children thrive.

At Make a Change (MAC), we believe every child deserves access to quality education and opportunities to thrive, no matter where they live. That’s why we are proud to support Seva Sadhna, an NGO dedicated to providing essential services in the remote areas of Kutch, Gujarat.

Seva Sadhna works tirelessly to empower local communities. Their initiatives include:

  • Distribution of Education Kits to children in need, ensuring they have the resources to learn.
  • Health Check-ups, promoting well-being and early detection of medical issues in underserved areas.
  • Skill Enhancement Programmes, helping young people and adults gain practical skills for a brighter future.

In May 2025, MAC contributed £6,500 to support a school located in one of the most remote parts of Kutch. This donation helped provide classroom furniture and computers, giving students a proper learning environment and access to digital tools that are essential in today’s world.

We are proud to work alongside Seva Sadhna, our trusted local partner in India, to bring education, skills, and hope to communities that need it most. Together, we are helping children in Kutch unlock their potential and dream bigger.

Looking Ahead

India Bike Ride 2025 represents far more than a cycling challenge—it is a long-term movement for hope, healing, and humanitarian impact.
Together, we will continue to support initiatives that uplift vulnerable children and adults globally.

In 2023, Make a Change Foundation stepped in to support a very poor family in Mandvi, located in the Kutch region of India, after they were found living in extremely unsafe and collapsing housing conditions. Following the death of the family’s main breadwinner due to illness, the remaining members were left in a destitute state, with no means to secure a safe home on their own

Their existing house was beyond repair and had to be completely rebuilt from scratch to ensure basic safety and dignity. Upon learning of their situation, Make a Change Foundation acted swiftly—working with local authorities and community partners to arrange temporary accommodation and begin planning for a new permanent home.

A dedicated fundraising effort was launched to cover rebuilding and relocation costs, ensuring the family could regain stability and hope for the future.

This project reflects Make a Change Foundation’s unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable families and making meaningful, lasting change within the community.

The First Major Housing Initiative by the Make a Change Foundation

In 2023, the Make a Change Foundation (MAC) completed its first major housing project—a transformative development created for a destitute community in Hajipir, Kutch, India. Before this intervention, families here were living in extreme poverty, relying on makeshift shelters built from bushes and rags, without safety, stability, or dignity.

To address these conditions, MAC fully funded and delivered Sri Ramdev Nagar, a carefully planned housing settlement consisting of 8 separate concrete housing units arranged in a circular layout. Each unit features two secure, practical rooms built with long-term durability in mind. At the heart of the circle stands a community hall with a small temple, giving residents a central space for worship, gatherings, and community support.

Fully Funded by MAC & Coordinated by Local Partner

This entire project was funded by the Make a Change Foundation, made possible through outreach to businesses, awareness campaigns, and a successful Dinner & Dance fundraising event.

MAC’s trusted local partner in India, Seva Sadhana, coordinated the on-ground implementation—managing logistics, engaging with families, and ensuring that the project respected local needs and traditions.

A Historic and Blessed Inauguration

The inauguration was graced by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, who commended MAC’s commitment to transforming the lives of the most vulnerable. His presence highlighted the importance of collaborative, community-driven development.

Blessings were offered by Pujya Sant Shri Balkrishna Dasji and revered saints from Bhuj Mandir, adding a profound spiritual element to the event. Key community leaders—including Mrs. Parulben Kara (Panchayat of Kutch), MLA Shri Keshubhai Patel (Bhuj Constituency), and Mrs. Manjulaben Bhanderi (Taluka Panchayat)—acknowledged the project’s immense impact on families who had endured long-standing deprivation.

MAC representatives Kiran Pindoria, Ramji Dubasia, and Dipesh Kerai joined dignitaries in unveiling the new homes. The families expressed deep gratitude for gaining a safe, dignified, and permanent place to call home.

A New Beginning for the Community

Tree planting around the site symbolised growth, sustainability, and renewed hope. The celebrations concluded with a communal lunch, bringing together residents, spiritual leaders, government officials, and MAC team members in a spirit of unity.

The Sri Ramdev Nagar project stands as a testament to the power of compassion, organised fundraising, and strong local partnerships—turning extreme hardship into dignity, stability, and opportunity.

Make A Change Foundation recently carried out a food distribution initiative in a remote village in India, addressing urgent issues of hunger and food insecurity within the community.

With the support of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers, essential food parcels were distributed across the village. Each package was carefully prepared to provide nutritious staples, including grains, pulses, cooking oil, and spices—ensuring families had access to balanced and sustainable meals.

This initiative brought immediate relief to vulnerable households and helped restore dignity and hope during a time of need. Through collective compassion and action, Make A Change Foundation continues to stand by underserved communities, delivering meaningful support one village at a time.
